Support the Hub!

For our first year, goals are modest; mostly we aim to keep the three Hub Lawns mowed and trimmed weekly with a lawn service. Previously with the farm this area was rotating pasture for the sheep. However we want to create a neater environment with a much lower mosquito and tick load and fun to look at and sit on.

The goal is to see if we can keep the hub sustainable.  For the next project we have a cute solid 2 room workshop by the barn picnic area. The main room can be a sitting area and the little room a changing area, there is electricity - no water, septic, insulation. There is a flue for a wood stove.  The idea is that this structure could be the physical hub behind the two picnic sites.   We've left this as a second year project because it would require volunteer hours of light carpentry, searching FFP for furniture, moving, cleaning, and decorating versus actual funding.  So let's see how the first summer goes!

Fundraising tracking and spending will be managed by Raxa Tariyal.  She is a senior at CVU where she started the DECA chapter.  DECA prepares students for the workplace and she enjoys managing financial projects.  For any questions about fundraising please email raxa@wanderinggoatvt.com.

Financial Structure

Wandering Goat is a boutique farm based company focusing on travel, food and lodging.  You can read more about the business in the About section.  Wandering Goat Cycle Hub (WGCH) is registered as a separate DBA and has its own bank account.  It is not a registered nonprofit as that involves overhead costs and time. However we will run it as a nonprofit and when we reach a level of member commitment, convert to a nonprofit tax status.

WGCH Funding

1. Donations

2. 20% Percentage of any food and beverage sale from Wandering Goat Farm for a WGCH group event, ride or an individual meal. The totals will be calculated monthly and deposited from WGF into the WGCH account.

WGCH Spending

1. Maintenance of WGCH park and parking

2. Improvements limited to the 3 lawn area ONLY.  This could include picnic facilities, toilets, workshop repair, flower beds or signage.
